We believe that discipleship happens in the everyday activities we do with our kids, and one of our favorites is cooking together!
This resurrection rolls recipe creates the perfect opportunity to talk about Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, and we love making them this time of year.

What You’ll Need:
- 1 can of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
- 8 large white marshmallows
- ¼ cup of sugar
- 2 Tbsp cinnamon
- ¼ cup of butter, melted
- Large cookie sheet
- Non-stick spray or parchment paper
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or spray with non-stick spray.
- Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Unroll crescent rolls and separate along perforated edges.
- Have your little one dip the marshmallow in melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place marshmallow on the wide end of one of the crescent rolls and roll towards the small end around the marshmallow, pushing in the sides as you roll. Secure the sides by pinching closed.
- Place on prepared cookie sheet and repeat steps 4-5 with remaining 7 rolls.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
Conversations as you bake:
- When your child picks up the marshmallow, ask them what color it is. The color white represents how Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. [1 John 3:5]
- As they dip the marshmallow in the butter and cinnamon sugar, and wrap it in the crescent roll, explain how this is like the spices and burial cloth Jesus was wrapped in as his body was placed in the tomb. [John 19:40]
- When the rolls go in the oven, close the door, which represents the tomb that was sealed by the stone. [Mark 15:46]
- When the cook time is up, open the door and remove rolls. When they are cool enough to handle, let your kids open up the rolls to see what happened to the marshmallow. It’s gone! This represents Jesus’ resurrection. [Mark 16:6]
